2011 - reinventing myself as an inventive designer of business
So this is 2011, what a year! Last year I got the inspiration to become independent and to really follow my dream: become an investor in the sustainable economy. I cannot say it is an easy year, re-inventing myself, becoming an independent financier, moving towards potential customers finding out that they still are somehow stuck in the old-world thinking...I experience myself as being alive and being inspirational though. Many contacts, friends, business people I know as well as the associations I govern, are in turmoyle though. Where the have moved to me for safety and security in the past, now they move towards me as someone who has the vision to steer through the high waves of the crises. We are all in there somehow. I experience this strong linkage wihtin humanity much more then last year.
But where the "force" of transformation is moving us, I do not know. I find myself being pensive about St. Jacob and the grandmaster of the universe a lot lately. I think we are experiencing a collective change, more massive then the sixties, more global in character and also...more inspiring then ever. So what will 2012, the year the mayan calender will have a "hole in time", bring us. Today I hope and trust it will be both better then today and potentially also worse at the same time. What better time to re-invent oneself then today? None.

Time flies when you are having fun!
2010-what a year! In June I pilgirmmiged (Peregrino) from Porto to Santiago de Compostela and made new friends along the way. In July I went to a long break in Denmark and had a wonderfull summer on the beach, surrounded with family and friends for a couple of weeks!
Returning back to the Netherlands in August 2010, I discovered wonderfull opportunities all around:
1. Jan wants to collaborate in a pan-european young entrepreneurs network of green energy companies. First joint attempts to aquire projects have started.
2. Henk-Jan and I signed a new contract in our "fledgling" webshop with wonderfull products: www.farmbay.eu
3. Oracle business is booming! I have a wonderful time with ING and Shell as customers.
4. IVN boardmembership has started and the project "Van Wolfsdreuvik tot Waterkant" is flying out of the blocks with societies such as Ministry of LNV/Castle Groeneveld, Baarsch Lyceum, IVN Eemland and Mango Kwane Wilco Jiskoot joining forces!
5. My membership of the Group Council, representing a great team of scouts is also wonderfull and inspiring!
I do not know what this year holds as more supprises, but I declare 2010 the best year yet!
BTW: 2010 is a year of all sorts of festivities as well:
1. Ten years of marriage to Iris !
2. Twenty years of being a couple with Iris !
3. "Our Curacao" will be "an independent country" as of 10-10-10!
4. And of course: turning 40 this year!

Year of new inspiration: 2009 is the year of transformation
Ever notice that some ideas just need time to evolve into reality? Well, 2008 certainly has been the year in which my quest for the green enterprise has evolved into real action. I met Michael Braungart and was inspired. Barack Obama won and I was inspired. Ramon's school requested help in de-signing a new building and I was inspired.
Also, the evolution of myself as enterprise architect was ongoing. Whereas I worked with large national and international companies in 2007, I started to work with the global corporations in 2008. The range of issues, challenges and possibilities is just mindboggling. If you look at the sheer potential to be found in improvement towards green enterprises, it is intimidating and mindblowing at the same time. Yet, matters also become so much more complex and time consuming, that it is sometimes too much to just try to transform the earth as a whole.
In 2009 my actions, thoughts and inspiration will be welded to the ongoing process of transformation towards a green earth even further. I plan to take the process of transformation one step further by building creative SWAT teams that will communicate and launch with the power of the Web2.0. Let's see where this evolutionary development will end.

A whole year passed, what's been the progress?
What a year it was. Started up the projects, that will make a difference:
1. DE-SIGN for a Green and Sustainable experience of Beautifull Estates
2. Hunting down the owners of Huize Meenk and informing whether it's possible to start a conversations centre on sustainability there
3. Trying to engage Whole Foods to start in Holland, and as a spinout getting connected with Marqt, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama.
4. Hunting new customers in 13 countries all over Europe. Bringing together a team of professionals to start a new team
5. Getting rid of old conversations and actively starting new ones, such as DE-SIGN
6. Isabel Julia Marie-Louise came into my life, you are so beautifull to me ...
7. Seeing Ramon of to school for the first time, pledging myself to create his future into a space of GREEN world.
8. Being absolutely aware of my green footprint (not that well this year!) and starting studies on:
- Wind energy
- Sun energy
- Hybrid cars and energy
- Good food and Soul of the human energy
9. I finally got a suntan again. That's a spinout of a change in life style: I live outside again and plan to do that a lot more!

Enterprise Architecture the Green Way
Ever considered of getting into Environmental stuff as an Enterprise Architect? I have. So what's NOT green about the work of an Enterprise Architect? That and a lot more is what this blog is about.
I am on a quest for a planet that is Green, healthy, alive and kicking! I also am an Enterprise Architect. I enjoy food, leisure, yoga, mindboggling games and being with my family. As an Enterprise Architect I love the work I do: I create worlds, that were there just to be created and create a future with groups of people together.
And as an enterprise architect I mainly deal with Ideas, Pictures, abstract ways of thinking and impact towards an increasing materialistic way of realising. There is nothing wrong with creating tangible stuff. It's what we do right? Even ideas, people and technology developments ask for TANGIBLE creation. But what if it's not ABOUT the tangible stuff? What, if it's really about the creation process and the "Ideas", mixed with "Ideals" come together in Solutions, that serve a Green, healthy, alive and kicking planet? That is my quest.
How I can best serve that? I DO NOT KNOW! Will YOU please tell me? If you are interested in sharing about YOUR Ideal Green, healthy and alive planet and HOW an Enterprise Architect could serve as a means TOWARDS that end, then please react to this BLOG and share what you have in mind for ALL those Architects out there!
Thank you.
